mp_backlot Overview

mp_backlot, another map thats nade heaven. If you plan on scrimming this map learn your nades and learn lots of them. Backlot is a defensive sided map, don't be surprised if you only manage to pull out a few round while attacking. This map is all about having a strong defense, and picking up rounds when you can on offense.

Main Map Routes

mp_backlot is pretty much bottle necked into 2 areas, which is why prenades are so effective on it. Don't forget offense is difficult on backlot play aggressive and take chances. You just want to grab a few rounds and let it slide when you play defense.

A Side
This site is a little bit easier to hit than B is. The best way to crack the site and get a plant down is to get in as fast as possible after nades. Some teams might start to delay their grenades, in which case you should full on rush the site at the start of the round.

B side
This part of the map usually sees much less traffic. Its more bottle necked than A. Theres a few ways to get in but they all involve going through a long alleyway. Your best shot at breaking B is to use smoke and get aggressive.

Popular Spots

It might feel cramped in mp_backlot, but theres plenty of spots to watch out for. This map has tons of cover at different levels of the map, don't forget to look up once in a while. Ill go over some of the more popular spots on this map.

Shak
This building is really good for getting picks in A. Keeping this building clear on defense will make backlot much easier. When playing defense it makes a good spot to try and get some picks mid round. Keep on eye on this place, you should learn nades and spam spots on this spot it will help you a ton. Some people like to play on shak roof, a grenade is the best way to dislodge them.

Upper A
This is a key spot to control. If you can get a footing here on offense you have a very good chance of planting A. Watching the upper A ladder is easy to cover once you let them get there. The key is to use grenades and prefire to keep the upper A guy out of position while you attack it.

Basement
Not much use on defense. On offense however this spot is extremely good if you can get the bomb planted at A. Its hard to you out down there, and its right under the site so you can peek easily when you hear the defuse.

Tin House
This spot is extremely good for defending B. Lots of teams have prenades for this spot, so you cant play it too often. Still a great spot you can hold down B by yourself almost, again don't over use this spot its not perfect.

B House
Most people defend b from some where in this house. This spot is especially good if you can get the bomb planted at B. You can peek through the shuttered window so be careful when planting/defusing.

Steel
Some extremely defensive teams will play here and try to spam you through the wall while your planting. Have your team mates fire while you plant to cover up the noise and you should be able to plant without him even knowing.

Connector
The guy playing mid on defense will more than likely play this spot every single round. Making it a really good idea to figure out some set nades for this door way on offense, mix up your timing and your bound to get him sooner or later.

Dumpster
This spot can end up causing lots of problems on offense, guys peeking here will slow you down. Make sure you do some thing to take care of any one who plays there, smoke it, or have a guy cover it. other wise your going to start getting picked from here when trying to enter A site.

mp_backlot is one of the smaller cod4 maps, but it has so many places to get into that you need to check every corner. Watch your back, check your spots and you should be putting up better numbers on backlot.
