Basic CoD4 tips to help you get more kills than deaths

Think about these CoD4 tips next time you load up a Call of Duty server. Call of Duty 4 is all about getting as many small advantages as you can. Lots of little advantages add up to a huge edge.

The biggest tip I can give you in Call of Duty 4 is to know the map. Load up an empty server or play DM/TDM, knowing all the ins and outs of the map is huge. The best place to do this is in your game server.

Don't forget you are playing against humans, people adapt so you have to play accordingly. Mix up your play as much as possible, hit them from different angles a new routes whenever you can. Every Call of Duty server plays different. Let the cod4 tips begin.

CoD4 Tips Grenades

First you need to find a high traffic choke point in your server. Like a place where people rush early in the round for example. Then you have to head to your spawn and find an in range spot. Once you find a spot thats in range of where you want to hit look to the sky. What your looking for is a point of reference, a rooftop, a tree, clouds, what ever you can use to gauge where your cross hair should be. Combine a good spot with solid reference points and all you gotta do is practice this WILL get you frags. Try this spot on back lot.

Next up is grenade priming. To prime your nade you have to hold down the button you have bound to throw nades. When it comes to smoke, flashes, and stuns you can hold down the button as long as you want. If you over prime a frag grenade how ever your going to have a bad day. Primed frag grenades works best for taking people out who are perched in hard to reach places like second story windows.

Want to triple the blast radius of your nade? A direct grenade to car will cause a huge explosion, if you can pull this off early in a round your golden.

Don't die with nades. Get your nades off as soon as possible, dying with unused nades is such a waste. Use a UAV to point you in the right direction. If theres no UAV up simply throw your nades where theres no teammates around, the enemy has to be some where just make an educated guess.

For my next set of cod4 tips I'll talk to you about guns mid round.

An extremely good habit to get into early on in your cod4 days is to drop your pistol for a real gun ASAP. This doesn't mean you should be staring at the ground a soon as you spawn in searching. You should just watch out for the weapon switch icon and be able to quickly switch to your pistol and drop it.

Mounted machine guns, are a pain in the ass... besides that they are alright to use once in a while. Don't get to cought up in using one, if you are able to sit in it for 30 seconds without getting picked your pretty lucky. Get in get a kill or two and move on. If your on the receiving end of a mounted MG feed them a nade or iron sight them from an out of the way angle.

Do you reload too much? It depends on what gun your using, lets say its some thing like an MP5 or an M4. If you have 75% or more of your clip theres really no need to reload unless your in a safe area. At 50% or less in your clip it would be a good idea to take cover and reload if possible.

Try not to use every bullet in your clip. if you have 0 rounds in your clip when you reload the animation takes a second longer because the gun has to be cocked.

CoD4 Tips Mini Map

one of its best uses is for walling. If you know some one on the other side of the wall all you have to do is figure out what depth they are at. Take a few probe shots and you should have your bearings on them.

Another great use is avoiding enemy airstrikes/choppers. They will show up as huge icons on your mini map and are usually easy to avoid.

You can also use it to find the quickest and safest routes to groups of enemys. If you can manage to sneak your way behind a large battle you can easily pick up 3-4 frags in a short period of time.

Another cod4 tip for the mini map is to learn how to see whats not there. A lot of times you can figure out where the enemy is without having a UAV or orange blips. If theres no orange at all you know theres got to be good space between them and your team mates. So by process of elimination you can usually figure out what corner of the map they are in and chuck nades down wind.

CoD4 Tips for Sprinting and Jumping

Once you get the hang telling when its safe to sprint you should try sprint jumping corners. This works best with SMGs like the MP5. Simply sprint at a corner jump right before you take it and turn, this is extremely difficult for the defender to hit. Fast game types like TDM and DM work best so expect this to work better on those servers.

If your in a gunfight and want to be unpredictable what should you do jump, or prone? Jumping is always better for a few reasons. For one when you go prone you run the risk of getting prone blocked. Another is once your prone you cant move and shoot at the same time. It also distorts your point of view a lot more than jumping which can throw off you aim as well as your opponent. When you jump your gun remains relatively accurate and you can recover from it quickly.

I know jumping during a gun fight is one of my cod4 tips that some will frown upon. You cant deny that it is an effective move when you don't feel like taking a bullet in the ass. Give it a try, once you start getting multi-kills jumping away from bullets you might change your mind.

Dont forget every game is different. What works in one Call of duty 4 server might get you owned in another cod4 server. Figure out how the other team is playing and push their weak points with every advantage you can find.
