Lets use create a class and make the perfect kit, with the best cod4 perks.
Its time to get your cod4 perks sorted out. Little tips like these add up to big advantages in video games. So you've been CoD4 server hopping for hours and have all sorts of interesting cod4 perks to play with. I wouldn't go so far as to say theres a "best" set of perks for a create a class. I do however see many players in cod4 handicap themselves using perks that have serious draw backs.
CoD4 Perks - Perk 1
Bandolier, this is by far the best perk in this category, it allows you to wall (shoot through walls)without worrying about ammo and go through the map focusing on enemy players instead of finding weapons. Special Nadesx3/Frag Nadesx3, if you haven't leveled up your cod4 account high enough to choose bandolier you should choose one of these until you get there. having 3 nades is good, but you shoot your gun more than you throw grenades so bandolier is a better choice.
C4 x 2/RPG x 2, these aren't horrible to put in your call of duty pack, but you have much better perks to choose from.
Bomb Squad, pretty much a unless perk. its easy to see claymores, and almost no one uses C4.
Claymore x 2, most players will see these and either go around or destroy them. Its still possible to pick up a few kills in a game with claymores, but i would expect you could do better with some thing like frag nadesx3.
CoD4 Perks - Perk 2
Stopping Power, by far one of the best perks in cod4. Using this makes almost every gun a 2-4 hit kill. This cod4 perk is a must if you are an aggressive player (like me). In call of duty 4 multiplayer 90% of your kills are going to be from gunfire. So some thing thats going to make your enemy's drop faster is extremely important, theres almost no excuse not to use this perk!
Juggernaut, this is another useful perk. The only time i would suggest using this perk over stopping power is when your sniping. If you have a more defensive playing style this perk might be better for you than SP. A little extra health never hurt any one right?
Sleight of Hand, such a waste. the 2 cod4 perks above simply blow this one out of the water. I mean maybe if you reload like a crack head every 2 seconds this might help you. Theres just plenty of better choices here.
Double tap, not a bad perk... Shooting faster than your opponent has its advantages. It has some draw backs though, ammo goes fast and the increased rate of fire makes it difficult to feel out a wall-spam. You cant afford to miss with this perk, your bullets go out so fast if you mislead your target for a second your out of ammo.
Over kill, starting out with 2 weapons sounds pretty good. But once again we have a mediocre perk in the same category with an AMAZING perk (stopping power FTW!). IF your sitting in a perch sniping you might use this perk to pack a shot gun or SMG. You can always kill some one and pick up thier gun, thats what team mates are good for right?...lol
UAV Jammer, crap crap crap. I see snipers using this ALL the time. A complete waste how many UAVs do you see a round, 4-5? do you really want to waste a perk on some thing thats only going to help you for 2 maybe 3 minutes a game? The sound of you shooting is a bigger give away then a dot on the mini map.
Sonic Boom, Most of the time your only going to have one nade so this perk really isn't going to help you much, and an M203 already has a ridiculous blast radius as it is, you shouldn't really need any help to get EASY kills with it. Plus once you use up the few shots you have with an m203 you have a wasted perk.
CoD4 Perks - Perk 3
Extreme Conditioning, a solid cod4 perk. I wouldn't recommend this perk for DM or TDM, but it can be useful in game types like SND and Sabotage. For Search and Destroy especially, the faster you can get to the bomb site the better. You can also use it to out run the prenades which can help a lot depending on how the other team is playing. Steady Aim, one of the better perks in cod4 for sure. I highly recommend putting this in your kit when ever using a SMG. Being able to keep a tight bullet spread while using good movement will win lots of 1v1s situations. This perk pretty much becomes useless with sniper rifles, shotguns, and any thing that needs to be zoomed in excessively.
Last Stand, love it or hate heres the truth about this perk. If you are using this perk there is a HUGE flaw in your play style, heres why. You count on dieing, this perk is usless while your alive... no matter how bad you are doing your going to spend more time alive then dead (might not apply to SND if your having a bad game lol). So why not use one thats going to give you and advantage DURRING a fight rather than when you've already lost it? I can guarantee you will get a higher KPR(kills per round) using steady aim in place of last stand.
Martyrdom, the the most overrated perk in cod4. Again if you use a perk that does nothing while your alive you are severely handicapping yourself. This one probably gets more kills then last stand but even when you get that kill you've lost your fight any ways. I will take a tighter bullet spread with steady aim over martyrdom any day. If you use steady aim and fight some one who's using martyrdom you are going to beat that guy almost every time, all you have to do is stay away from his body....take your pick...
Deep Impact, a solid cod4 perk. I mostly recommend this perk when using some sort of rifle (m4 AK). It also depends on what kind of map your playing, is it open with lots of range fighting? If so steady aim might be a better choice. Close quarters maps on the other hand have hallways and rooms with thin walls and plenty of people trying to take cover behind them. If your going with an SMG I would recommend sticking with steady aim.
Iron Lungs, like picking people off from a mile away? Pick a perch, take a deep breath and don't forget to lead!Check out these CoD4 Sniper tips.
Dead silence, kind of a misleading name... being quieter than usual really doesn't do much to help you, if your oppenent has a decent sound card/headset combo. Stay away from this perk.
Eaves drop, hmmmmm. This one can be fun to mess around with but most public games don't have any useful information being communicated heh. So this is another perk you want to keep away from your call of duty pack.
High KPR cod4 kits
Perk 1: Bandolier Perk 2: Stopping Power Perk 3: Steady Aim This is the best setup you can use for being agressive with an SMG(my preffered style of play)MP5 Guide
Perk 1: Bandolier Perk 2: Stopping Power/Juggernaught Perk 3: Deep Impact A good setup for playing a deffensive rifle. Mess around with stopping power and juggernaught to see which one you prefer, I use stopping power.
Perk 1: Frag grenades x 3 Perk 2: Juggernaught Perk 3: Iorn Lungs This kind of setup can be used for Sniping or long ranged assault rifles.
Theres plenty more configurations you can use and be effective in call of duty 4. these are just a few to give you an idea of how you can customize your classes in cod4. The kits in cod4 are very customizable experiment... and dont forget stay away from death perks!
