Battlefield Bad Company Tips

The BFBC2 essentials

Battlefield Bad Company isn't like most FPS. The difference between being a good player and being a fail player is not your score. BFBC2 is all about team play. In this article I'll lay out some tips for rolling those noobs.

Battlefield Bad Company Tips Vehicles

Vehicles are more important than I can possibly emphasize in one article. If your team isn't using them and your opponents are you will get raped. Most people are so used to running and gunning they walk right by empty vehicles constantly. Don't be that guy, he's a nub and brings great shame to his family.

When it comes to ATVs and jeeps keeping them in motion will help your team but leaving them empty isn't too horrible. How useful they are really depends on the map.
Sneaky routes along the maps edge are the best way to move from point to point. If jeeps and ATVs can't travel through those areas you might want to consider walking.

APC and Tanks are a whole other story. NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER EVER leave these empty. These vehicles make or break teams they need to be manned and put in places on the map where they are effective.
Don't know how to use one? Don't worry about it. Every one starts with no experience and works their way up from there. Armor is key to all BF games. If you aren't interested in using them you might as well play CoD4.

Battlefield Bad Company Tips Spotting

If you aren't spotting your team is at a massive disadvantage. Spotting enemies brings them up on your whole team's mini map and HUD. Any one who is unlucky enough to get spotted usually dies in short order.
It helps for getting enemy infantry down, but it's especially important for enemy armor. Spotting tanks lets every one know there's some shit to deal with. If you can get this hard wired into your brain beautiful things will happen for you and your team.

Battlefield Bad Company Tips Mini Map / Map

Key part number 3 is knowing how to use your mini map and full map. Your mini map is located at the lower left part of your screen. With the press of a button you can blow that up and get a full view of the map.
The full map is good for figuring out what flags you have and where your team mates are. Spotted enemies will also show up here but are usually so far away you can't do any thing about them.
The mini map is used much more often. Enemies spotted on there will be in your range. It's also good for finding empty vehicles.

Battlefield Bad Company Tips Kits

Battle Field is an open ended game and conditions on the map change every minute. There is no cure all class that has every tool you will need over the course of a game.
Changing kits in the middle of a battle is not uncommon. Kits in bfbc2 have been condensed into 4 classes.

Assault
Medic
Engineer
Recon

Assault is one of the most popular and well rounded kits. You get a grenade launcher to kill infantry and break down walls, a normal grenade for killing infantry or annoying tanks.
Then you have a assault rifle for gunning down nublets. This kits good for close and mid range infantry fights. Armor and long range fire fights are its weak points.

Medic is another popular kit. You get a massive machine gun a health kit and shock paddles, when you unlock them. Medics are hugely important for attacking flags. Their ability to revive team mates makes life much easier for your squad.
Why force your squad mates to wait 15 seconds for a spawn and burn a ticket? The big MG is also good for getting rid of infantry up close. Long range fire fights and the lack of explosives to damage buildings are this kits down sides.

Engineer is most players least favorite class, but it's also the most important! Armor is a pain in the ass. Engineers are a pain in the ass for armor. In other BF games the anti tank class is usually gimped when it comes to sub machine guns.
The SMGs they give you in bc2 aren't too bad, but they aren't exactly made for attacking flags. They work best running and gunning at close range against no more than 1 guy. Weaknesses for this class are multiple infantry and low ammo.

Recon is the most overused kit in the game. A team full of snipers can't do shit when it comes to objectives. This kit needs to be used in moderation. Battle Field is a fast paced game your team doesn't need any more than one slow sniper hiding in the brush.
An aggressive sniper moving from flag to flag and taking advantage of his artillery or C4 can actually be useful. This kits strength is in taking down armor and long range fighting. Its weaknesses are close range fighting and moving onto objectives.

Battlefield Bad Company Tips Bullet Drop

Most people know that bf bc2 has bullet drop. Most people don't know how it works or when it matters. Usually bullet drop doesn't matter or isn't noticeable. If your an Engineer or Medic chances are you won't worry about it as your mostly fighting close range.
As assault you might worry about it once or twice a decade. Snipers are the only class that needs to worry about it on a semi regular basis. At extreme distances you will see your bullet turn into a bright yellow tracer. The small amount you see the tracer fall is bullet drop.

Battlefield Bad Company Tips Sprinting

Sprinting is a nice little feature to get around the map quickly when you have no vehicle. It can also lead to rape if you happen to run into some one who's scoped in. To avoid that you need to do two things.
Stick to cover, just because your sprinting doesn't mean its safe to cross wide open ground. Sprint in bursts. In between the bursts spin around, check your surroundings and take a look at your minimap. That should cut down on your mid sprint surprises.
