All Points Bulletin Teamwork
How well a team works together is much more important then an individual players skill. It seems like common sense but APB is such an open ended game that getting sidetracked is easy. I’ll share some of my teamwork secrets with you.
APB Teamwork – Transportation
The first part of any mission is reaching the objective. If the objective is 100 meters or less away sprinting is fine, any thing more than 100 meters you should be looking for a vehicle.
Different opposition size calls for specific vehicles. When playing against a small opposed force lets say 1 or 2. Its best to use a fast 2 seat car, because many times you can get the objective completed before they even get there. If you happen to run into opposing players on the way your flimsy sports car armor should hold up against only a few players.
In larger matches with 4-6 players sports cars begin to go down in value. The larger teams mean their players will be more spread out over the city. The chance of getting there first drops significantly. More players also means more road fights. SUV’s and trucks are slower but will sustain more damage and get you closer to the objective.
APB Teamwork – Objective Sites
The most important aspect of taking a site is figuring out what team got there first. If the site is less than 200 meters away when it appears chances are you will be first in. Keep an eye out for discarded enemy cars. If you win the race sprint and take the objective or setup your defense.
If you don’t make it to the objective first be cautious. Expect to see enemies on roofs/ledges. Wait for your team mates rather than trying to solo a site. Try not to share doorways or alleys with team mates. The 3rd person camera makes it difficult to see exactly what your aiming at up close, this can cause friendly fire issues. Coming in from different angles and setting up crossfires works best. Don’t get too involved with flanking and separating. Try to keep team mates within 30 meters of your position.
APB Teamwork – Objective Switch
Transitioning from one objective to another is a critical time. Often you will be surrounded by reds and be tempted to pick up some kills. Getting transition kills isn’t a bad thing but it can screw your team over if done wrong. The current objective is always the most important. You cant attack or defend the new site if your playing around with the other teams stragglers. I use the 10 second rule. If I cant pick up an easy kill within 10 seconds I will let them live and haul ass to the new site.
