All Points Bulletin Best Weapons

Everyone wants to know what the best weapons in All Points Bulletin are. Like all games, the weapons of APB are not created equally.  Some suck and others do work well. There is no “best gun”. APB has a very rock- paper- scissors type feel to it. Modifications and the number of weapon slots also play a large role in how well a gun can work for you.

APB Weapon STAR 556

Lets start at the beginning. You initially receive a STAR 556. This is the most well rounded gun in the game. It works best at mid range 20-25 meters. It’s not too bad up close, as it allows you to move and shoot, but its not going to keep up with SMGs. At long range you wont be able to do much with this gun. You can hit people, but normally they will just hide and regen long before you get enough bullets down range to kill them. The STAR is a really well balanced gun with no mods on it.

Once you get to the point where you start unlocking slots and mods, it’s time to move on. If you add mods to the STAR 556 it loses it’s balance. All around the STAR is a good gun, but it doesn’t really do any one thing really well. That might sound good but this means you have no advantage to push. This becomes a big issue later in the game when you start playing against players with 1 slot or 2 slot guns. Once you unlock the slotted rifles, its time to move on to the N-TEC or pick a new route.

 

APB Weapon N-TEC 5

All Points Bulletins’ other assault rifle is the N-TEC 5. This is the best assault rifle in APB. Once you get a slotted N-TEC and equip a hunting sight, this gun destroys the STAR. The N-TEC is most deadly at mid range 20-30 meters. It is also decent up close, as long as you’re not up against an SMG. You can expect to win a good number of up close 1 vs 1 fights, otherwise.

This gun feels like it was ripped straight from Counter-Strike. It feels just like a CS AK. The key to doing damage, is controlling the recoil. This gun has a ton of kick to it, so you need to drag your mouse down when firing. Avoiding full automatic fire is also a good idea. If you’re not extremely close to your target, short controlled bursts are the way to go.

Once you start getting slots, the N-TEC handles much better. Through normal play you will unlock the Hunting Sight mod. Many agree that the Hunting Sight enhances your ability greatly. The dual slotted guns are a little more interesting. Most people go with either Rifling or Cooling Jacket for a second modification on this gun.

 

APB Weapon OCA-EW 626 AKA MP5

This gun is the unchallenged master of close range skirmishes. A high rate of fire coupled with the ability to move and shoot makes this gun is a mother fucker up close. Keep the fight within 10 meters and your chances of winning are good. The rate of fire is good but it takes 8 bullets from your 30 round clip to kill some one. The Colby PMG is also a pretty good gun. It has a slightly better range but isn’t quite as good point blank.

The most important stats on the OCA-EW 626 are: Mobility and Rate of Fire. If you’re going to overcome the 8 bullet handicap you have to be an unpredictable target while laying down a base of fire. Most other guns must be zoomed in to get accuracy fast left and right movement is difficult to track while in that mode. Do everything in your power to avoid long range and mid range combat. Cut corners and use angles to close the distance against snipers and assault rifles.

 

APB Weapon Obeya CR762

The Obeya CR762 is a really good middle – long rage weapon. All you have to worry about with this gun are: N-TECs/SMGs up close and snipers at long range. When using the Obeya you need fast firing secondary, the N-FA 9 is perfect. Using ranged weapons like the Obeya takes well thought out planning to be effective. You cant just roll up on an objective and expect to get free kills.

Anything works against a noob, we want strategies that work against opponents with higher brain function. Using smart positioning is huge with this gun. The best place to be are rooftops and ledges that are across from the objective.  Being directly on top of the objective is good for SMGs but bad for Obeyas. You have to make use of your guns range and not rely on your N-FA 9.

APB Best Secondary Weapons

All Points Bulletin has a few really good pistols. Which one will work best for you really depends on your main weapon and playing style. Here are some pistols that work well.

N-FA 9

This side arm has a ton of potential. It has the fastest firing rate of any gun in APB, and has maxed out mobility. It’s biggest downside is the clip size at only 25 bullets. It’s not uncommon to need 2 clips for one kill. This is the best gun in the game at point blank range. (0-1 meters). After 3-5 meters the gun becomes much less effective. If your close enough to touch someone, this is the gun you want to have. It works best in long range kits like Obeya and Sniper.

Colby RSA

The Colby is a really good mid – long range weapon. Inside 70 meters this pistol can contend with assault rifles. It doesn’t have the rate of fire to keep up with a primary weapon, so effective use of cover is important. This is my favorite side arm to roll out with when playing SMG. Any time the opposition goes to mid or long range I can help my team mates out with the Colby RSA.
