BFBC2 Inf
Infantry refers to guys on the ground. When your running around shooting people on foot your considered infantry. Almost every other FPS title is nothing but infantry. Playing this role in bfbc2 takes a much deeper thought process then games like CoD and counter strike. This article will help you maximize your effectiveness as inf.
Objectives for Inf
The main goal of infantry is NOT to kill other infantry. It's to secure objectives or capture flags. Kills don't win games, completing objectives does, its important to remember this. The first thing an effective inf player does is find a squad.
Battlefield Infantry Squads
Bfbc2 infantry is all about team work. Even very talented players have a hard time working a server on their own. This is because battlefield has a very rock paper scissors type countering system.
Playing by yourself means eventually your going to run into the kit or vehicle that has you beat. Being in a well rounded squad takes care of that. Take a look at what kits your squad mates are spawning with and choose some thing that compliments them.
Score battlefield infantry
Many noobs put way too much thought in how some ones score looks. Different roles end up with different score qualities. A good tanker is going to have a much better kill death ratio then a good infantry. Being bullet proof seems to have a positive effect on death rates for some reason.
Being inf is all about doing the dirty work. Against an evenly matched team the dirty work will make your score look like shit. An infantry's score doesn't matter as long as his team is winning. However this doesn't mean you can just die a million times and still win.
Maintaining an even kill death ration should be your only score oriented goal in bfbc2. Any thing over positive means your doing pretty well. Don't hide away from the action picking off one guy every few minutes. Hoping on objectives and getting a few deaths is not a big deal.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Assault
Any good infantry need to know their way around an assault kit. There are a few things every player needs to know about the assault kit. The two most powerful guns are the AN-94 and XM8. Killing other inf quickly extends your life expectancy.
The grenade launcher is an incredibly useful tool. They bust up the map giving you new routes and can be used to annoy vehicles. Check out damage percentages between the different types of vehicles for one grenade round.

Tank 6%
Six percent might not be much against heavy armor but it still helps your engineers get them down.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Engineer
These guys play a huge role in taking control of the battlefield. Anti armor is their main gig but their sub machine guns aren't to bad for handling infantry. Every squad really needs one of these dudes. One APC can easily wipe out a squad if there's no one to keep it from pushing up on you.
As an engineer you need to know what your rocket launcher is capable of. Shooting enemy armor is all fun and good, but not all parts are built the same. Some are weaker and take more damage per rocket. These are what the basic damage percentages look like.
APC/Tank
Front 28%
Sides 52-55%
Back 55-57%
There is a large damage reward for attacking from the back and sides. Always aim for those spots when trying to down armor for quicker results.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Medic
Medics unlock the M60, which alone makes them rapey. Add on top of that they can revive fallen team mates and you can see why medics are so clutch. The only bad thing about medics is they run out of ammo and have no way of busting through walls. Being in a squad cures these ailments.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Recon
Snipers, love them or hate them they aren't going any where. The sniper rifles in bfbc2 are by far the best that any bf game has had so far, due to net code actually working for a change. Aim just above the head from a distance and you got a 1 hit kill.
If you are going to play recon don't forget about every thing else in your kit. Way too many people sit off in the corner killing 3 guys a round and never even think about the equipment they are wasting. You can choose between C4 and artillery. They both do serious damage but go to waste if you aren't mixing it up in the action.
You get 4 bricks of C4. Each one does 69% damage to tanks. If you're sneaky enough 2 bricks can knock out a pain in the ass tank. Being closer to the action will get you more deaths but its also going to make you an asset to the team.
